PRESENTATION OF THE BENELUX HYDROGEN STUDY: CROSS-BORDER HYDROGEN VALUE CHAIN IN THE BENELUX AND ITS NEIGHBOURING REGIONS
Event description: The Benelux Union fosters cross-border collaboration between the Benelux countries. It has recognised the key role that hydrogen has in reaching carbon neutrality for its region and it wishes to develop a cross-border hydrogen backbone in the Benelux area and its neighbouring regions. The aim of this study is to facilitate cross-border cooperation, within the Benelux and with its neighbouring regions (Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Rhineland Palatinate, Lower Saxony), for matters related to hydrogen and its derivatives.

SKILLS AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE HYDROGEN ECONOMY - INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES FROM MEMBERS OF THE IPHE HYDROGEN SKILLS TASK FORCE
Event description: A capable workforce is required to drive and sustain the growing hydrogen economy. Several countries have embarked on efforts to identify the skills and the scale of workforces required, and are putting in place initiatives to develop hydrogen workforces. In this session, representatives of members of the IPHE Hydrogen Skills Task Force across three continents will outline how their countries are approaching hydrogen skills and workforce development, the lessons learned and key questions that still need to be answered about hydrogen workforce development. The intent of this knowledge sharing session is to enable policy makers and other hydrogen value chain stakeholders to learn from the experiences of other countries to inform their own hydrogen skills development efforts and to communicate their needs and experiences with regard to hydrogen skills and workforce development. The insights gained from this session will also be a key input to the work of the IPHE Hydrogen Skills Task Force which is developing a series of resources to assist countries to streamline and complement their hydrogen skills and workforce development efforts individually and collectively to strengthen the current and build the future global hydrogen workforce.

HYDROGEN EUROPE RESEARCH AWARDS
The Young Scientist Award is an annual competition organised by Hydrogen Europe Research, aiming at rewarding young researchers who have personally contributed to one or more hydrogen (-related) projects. By organising this competition, Hydrogen Europe Research wishes to give visibility to the work of students, PhDs, postdocs and young researchers, and encourage their involvement in Clean Hydrogen Partnership projects. Another goal is also to attract young talents to work in the field of hydrogen and fuel cells. The competition revolves around four pillars, reflecting the structure of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. One young scientist is awarded in each pillar, and one is elected “Best Researcher of the Year”, for a total of 5 awards.
