EU Projects Pavilion
We are happy to announce that this year we will have a whole pavilion dedicated to EU projects. The hydrogen ecosystem moved forward also thanks to these EU-funded activities that are contributing to the development and progress of the European Union as a whole. EU projects are instrumental to promote innovation, support regional development, tackle global challenges, and enhance European integration. Overall, EU projects are important because they support the achievement of shared goals and priorities across the European Union and can help to create a more prosperous and sustainable future for all.

EU CHP STASHH PROJECT / EU CEF H2BENELUX PROJECT
Organised by: WaterstofNet vzw
Project description: The EU CHP StasHH/EU CEF H2Benelux consortium, consisting of 21 European partners, has developed the world’s first open standard for fuel cell modules for heavy duty applications. This standard aims to globally impact the uniform development of fuel cell modules by setting clear rules regarding physical dimensions and physical and digital interfaces. The StasHH standard is thus a real game changer as it provides clear advantages for users and producers of fuel cell modules in their common goal towards reaching market competitiveness of heavy-duty fuel cell applications. The EU CEF H2Benelux project has contributed to the development of an interconnected, cross-border network of hydrogen refuelling stations in the Benelux by realizing 8 hydrogen refuelling stations (4 in the Netherlands, 3 in Belgium and 1 in Luxembourg) along the European TEN-T corridors.
Session description: A duo presentation is provided on the latest development on the EU CHP StasHH project (Open standard for fuel cell modules for heavy duty applications) and EU CEF H2Benelux project (realization of 8 hydrogen refuelling stations in the Benelux).

H2CRETE Valley Project
Organised by: H2CRETE Valley Project
Project description: H2CRETE Valley is a Green Hydrogen production project located in Atherinolakos, Crete Island (Greece) and led by ProEuropean Trading GmbH, a German-based Project Management company. H2CRETE Valley aims to build a cost-efficient Green Hydrogen hub in the heart of Mediterranean Sea, turning Crete Island in the structural pillar of entry, transmission, and distribution of energy power from North Africa to Europe.

H2Haul
(Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks for Heavy Duty Zero Emissions Logistics)
Organised by: Hydrogen europe
Project description: H2Haul (Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks for Heavy Duty Zero Emissions Logistics – 826236) is a project co-financed by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership. It aims to develop and deploy 16 zero-emission fuel cell trucks at four sites. In addition, new high-capacity hydrogen refuelling stations will be installed to provide reliable, low carbon hydrogen supplies to the trucks. The project began in 2019 and will run for five years. LESGO
(Light to store chemical energy in reduced graphene oxide for electricity generation)
Organised by: LESGO
21.11.2023 | 17:00 - 18:00 CET
LESGO
(Light to store chemical energy in reduced graphene oxide for electricity generation)
Organised by: LESGO
Project description: The Horizon 2020 LESGO project aims to store energy in the C-H bond of reduced graphene oxide (rGO-H). The advantages of rGO-H include safe storage, easy transportation, an energy density over 100 times larger than that of H2 gas, and no CO2 emissions in the electricity generation process. The project will promote an affordable and eco-friendly means of supplying electrical power on demand where required. The LESGO project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 952068. Find out more at https://lesgo-project.eu/
Session description: Energy transition scenarios foresee that hydrogen will play a pivotal role in hard to decarbonize sectors such as road transportation, yet, its long-term storage capability is still technologically complex or capital intensive. Long term hydrogen storage in liquid organic carriers, particularly at ambient temperature and pressure, has recently caught interest as a potential energy carrier. In this talk, we will present how the LESGO technology, based on energy storage in the C-H bond of reduced graphene oxide (rGO-H), and its eventual release in modified fuel cells, can be implemented as an infrastructure compatible, emission free, non-toxic, and fully circular solution for the growing hydrogen economy.
