EU Green Deal targets implementation

2025 is a decisive year for implementing the EU Green Deal, with Member States required to complete the transposition of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) into national law. The directive introduces binding targets for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs) across both industry and transport, making it one of the most significant drivers of demand for renewable hydrogen in Europe. The main focus will be the REDIII targets implementation in both industry and transport sectors as the directive, is implemented, can result in the largest volumes of demand for renewable hydrogen.

Hydrogen Valleys: regions meet industry Event

This session aims to discuss the interplay between regions and R&D in terms of hydrogen valleys and as such hopes to help foster ever stronger links between regions and industry. Kick-off speeches on public funding by DG RTD and the Regional Pillar representative of the Hydrogen Europe Board of Directors set the scene for an inspiring conversation on critical R&D and the role of regions in the development of hydrogen value chains. A structured panel discussion on public funding for hydrogen valleys follows, with testimonials from various stakeholders. Following the testimonials,an open dialogue starts with regions and industry members on their specific funding needs. The moderator, then, wraps up the event and invite the audience to make use of the matchmaking tables. This exciting event aims to achieve one of the goals of Hydrogen Europe - to accelerate the development of hydrogen valleys across Europe and demonstrate their added-value to the European hydrogen economy.
